7.Famous stadium

    There are many famous stadiums in Spain. There are stadiums which is larger than Japanese counterpart. I introduce four stadiums.

 

     First, I introduce Camp Nou which is in Barcelona. It is home stadium of FC Barcelona. In 1954, it began to be built. It was built for three year, so it completed in 1957. It was made of iron and concrete. The height of it is 48 meters and the length 250m, the width 220, the area 55000 ㎡. In 1998, UEFA which is football association of Europe recognized it as five star stadium, which is highest rank. The number of accommodated is 99354. The number of accommodated is the largest in the world. There are museum and chapel, sports medical center in the stadium. FC Barcelona is very strong, so it has many cups. Thus, there are many cups in the museum.

 

     Second, I introduce Satiago Bernabeu which is home stadium of Real Madrid. It is at Madrid which is capital city of Spain. In 1947, it was completed, and at that time, the stadium was called “Chamartin stadium”. In 1955, Satiago Bernabeu who was the chairman of Real Madrid from 1943 to 1978 named the stadium “Santiago Bernabeu”.In 1982, it was used as the stadium of World Cup’s final and UEFA Champions League four times. The number of accommodated is 85454. UEFA recognized it as the five star stadium. The 1000^th memorial game was conducted in 2007, but Real Madrid lost Levante. We can tour there and visit trophy room and locker room, walk around the pitch, shop goods in the stadium.

     Third, I introduce Vicente Calderon which is home stadium of Atletico Madrid. It is at Madrid. In 1966, it was completed. In 1982, it was used as the stadium of Spain World Cup’s game. The number of accommodated is 54851. UEFA recognized it as the five star stadium. The feature of this is that highway is through under the stadium. It is very amazing. But Atletico Madrid’s home stadium change from it to Estadio La Peineta in 2013. The number of accommodated is 73000, so I think fun of Atletico Madrid is increasing.

 

 

     Finally, I introduce Mestalla which is home stadium of Valencia CF. It is at Valencia which is east of Spain. In 1923, it was completed. Since then, it had been renovated. The number of accommodated was 45000 in 1959, but it is 53000.The future of it is that the gradient of the audience seat is more steeper than any other stadium in Spain.
